Il bike sharing è uno dei modi in cui la bicicletta più facilmente riesce a far parlare di sé, a partire dal successo mediatico del lancio del servizio di Parigi.

A più di due anni dall’apertura di Velib, con le principali città in Europa e in America ormai dotate di un servizio o sul punto di inaugurarne uno, con quasi 150 Comuni in Italia che hanno attivato il servizio, il bike sharing resta però ancora un oggetto per molti versi misterioso, che porta con sè molte domande:

• quale è il grado di affidabilità e di utilità per chi lo usa?
• quali sono gli inconvenienti che vengono fuori nelle varie città?
• ha dei costi sostenibili per le Amministrazioni?
• esiste un livello minimo perché un sistema “funzioni”?
• quali sono i possibili sviluppi futuri?

Se vi sono domande che richiedono analisi tecniche ed economiche non facili, molto spesso è invece chi va in bicicletta ed effettivamente usa il servizio che può dire come vanno le cose e cosa occorre per migliorarle.
